Hello, my name is Lucy Hodson, and I am currently 19 years old.
I have lived in the village of Tarleton all of my life, and still reside there each weekend when I travel home from university. I have a deep passion for the environment, especially for the promotion of 'greener' living and reducing carbon emmissions & waste. I am currently reading Wildlife Conservation at Liverpool John Moore's University, and hope to commit my future career into the protection of endangered species & habitats on both a local & international scale.
I am keen about the overall well-being of my home village and the main settlement of Tarleton & Hesketh Bank and even though I am relatively young, I am committed to benefitting the local community. I take a keen interest in many local issues and believe my points of view & initiatives could be very beneficial when dealing with pressing local matters.
I believe more young people should be involved with community issues so that Council's truly represent all sections of society. The issues we are faced with need to be approached from a different perspective if we are to address them. I feel that it is important to understand that although I am young, the massive societal changes we have seen through the medium of Information Technology in the past ten years was brought about by people of my age at the time.
Perhaps it really is Time for Change?!
Thank You, Lucy Hodson
