Background
As a "new" candidate for Hesketh-with-Becconsall Parish Council I provide "new" thinking & "new" ideas. I've served as a DISTRICT COUNCILLOR elsewhere & I've studied this Council for nearly a decade by going to some meetings. Before retirement I was a MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT questioning management practices constructively & suggesting solutions to problems. That needed objectivity & credibility to give a professional service to valued clients. Now I'm putting forward my help to our community.

Planning Interests
Having served on a Planning Committee & been a member of the Civic Trust I try to examine planning applications which impact on the village. Occasionally I represent local concerns by delivering a balanced view to committee.

Connecting with the Public
We need more public involvement; more dialogue; less spin; greater openness; & more friendly public relations. Working with fellow councillors, I would like to see an undertaking that clear account is taken of local views as part of the overall decision-making process.

Financial Control
We're all bothered by rising council tax. Hesketh Bank Parish has the highest precept in West Lancashire. A considered approach to public spending is needed by our councillors. Plus cost-benefit analysis for the major projects.
