Dear Resident
I
have lived in Hesketh Bank all my married life and
have two grown up children who both went to local
schools. I have been a School Governor and for the
last 4 years I have served on the Parish Council,
during which time we achieved official recognition
as a Quality Council. Whilst on the Parish Council,
I have been a member of both the Planning and Play
Areas and Recreation Grounds Sub-Committees and I
also edited and produced the early editions of the
Parish Council Newsletter “Shoreline Summary”
Just
over a year ago the Parish Council formed a Parish
Plan Steering Group which has worked extremely hard
over the last 12 months seeking your views about what
is needed in Hesketh Bank via a Questionnaire Survey.
The results are contained in a Community Audit Report
which we have recently produced (an electronic copy
is available on www.HwBPC.org.uk)
or you can contact me for a paper copy on 01772 812137.
We are now preparing a summary report in the form
of a Parish Plan for Hesketh Bank.
The
Parish Plan will reflect the issues you identified
as key priorities for the future of the village in
such areas as Traffic and Transport, Crime and Safety,
Community Facilities. Youth Facilities, Housing and
Environmental Matters etc. and some early work has
already been undertaken by the formation of 4 Action
Groups to address the above issues. The Parish Plan
will be made available to all residents by the end
of May and it will be officially launched at a public
meeting on the 15th June.
The
Parish Council will take a lead role in pursuing the
wishes of the community as contained in the Parish
Plan. By standing for election again I am asking for
your continued support in taking forward the wishes
and concerns you have expressed in the recent survey.
Please
give me your vote on 1st May
Steve
