In 2002, Tarleton Parish council
was the first parish council in West Lancs to initiate
a village plan and was the first in Lancashire to
complete one.
The
plan has produced some remarkable achievements. Successful
projects linked to our village plan have generated
funding of over £1.8 million for our village
and I am proud to have played an active part in helping
to achieve this.
The
sports pavilion and sports pitches at Carr lane have
been modernised beyond recognition, providing fantastic
sports facilities for the village’s sports clubs.
It is a venue which we are all proud of when hosting
visiting teams and is indeed it is now considered
a beacon of excellence by many other parishes. The
team on the council especially, have worked tirelessly
on securing funding and have overseen the whole project
from start to finish and I am proud to have been actively
involved along with all the volunteers who have given
their time and talents to this project.
I
would like to invite anyone who hasn’t had the
chance to come down to see this facility to do so,
as it is a facility for the entire village. Did you
know that the pavilion also has an excellent function
suite for community and private use?
Tarleton
High school now has a fabulous sports hall which has
been achieved with a partnership with the parish council
through the village plan, of which I have given my
full support.
The
team on the parish council have many exciting plans
for the future and as part of this team, I ask you
to vote for me on May 3rd so I can continue to give
my full support to see these plans through:
