Bob
Foster - Candidate for Tarleton Parish Council
Dear
Residents of Tarleton,
I live locally with my wife Pauline and
we have three sons Stephen, Matthew and Martin. We have
lived locally for 37 years and I am currently employed
by WLDC as many people know, when they see me on the highways
and byways. I am a member of the West Lancs Ramblers and
am familiar with all the Public Footpaths in the ward.
I am also a member of Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, RSPB
and Friends of Mere Sands Nature Reserve.
Tarleton
is fortunate in having recently adopted a Village Plan,
which gives a structured approach towards tackling some
of the problems we face as a community. The lack of any
such plan over the past 20 years or so is what led to
these problems arising in the first place. The Village
Plan won’t cure everything overnight - there is
no such thing as an ‘instant solution’ but
I certainly feel that it is the best approach and I look
forward to working as a team on the Parish Council to
address issues such as Traffic Congestion, Affordable
Homes and HGV movements in the Village. The Village Plan
has already helped deliver vastly improved Sports Facilities
at Carr Lane & Tarleton High School and was used by
West Lancs Primary Care Trust with the recent extension
to Tarleton Health Clinic.
As well as the general business of Parish
Council I have a particular interest in the new Coastal
Zone incorporating the proposed Linear Park and Ribble
Estuary Park, which will be very important for Tarleton
in terms of recreation, tourism and business in general.
The improvements to our natural assets will benefit us
all.
Bob Foster.
