Hesketh with Becconsall Parish Council
Tony Murphy

Glen Park Drive
Hesketh Bank

Dear Resident,
I would like to introduce myself, my name is Tony Murphy and I have lived in Hesketh Bank for 17 years, I’m married to Val and have 3 children Adam, Lewis and Connor. I am currently the Chairman of the Parish Council, having also been Chairman in 2000-2001. I am also a governor at Hesketh-with-Becconsall (All Saints’) Primary School where two of my children attend.
I am seeking re-election to the Council in order to help continue to be part of improving the Council and the way we can move forward to serve the local community.
I have been a member of the Parish Council for 6 years and joined the Council to be part of the decision making process that can have a direct effect on helping improve facilities available for the local residents.
During the past 12 months’ as Chairman have been a challenge and hope we are now seeing light at the end of the tunnel. I am grateful to the Council for endorsing plans I have drawn up to refurbish the Play Areas at Glen Park Drive, Station Road and Shore Road – which will see the Council invest over £30,000 in the next 18 months to improve the standard of play equipment available for our children, including the replacement of safety surfacing and the installation of a Youth Shelter for the teenagers. I applied, on behalf of the Council, for Capital Funding from the District Council and was successful in obtaining grant assistance for £9,000 towards this project.

I fully support the plans to build a Booth’s Supermarket in the heart of the village and also fully endorse the introduction of our new Community Support Officers who now patrol our village with their high visibility policing – they are a welcome addition to our existing police officers.

“I believe that I have served the community well as a Parish Councillor and I therefore ask for your support.”

An effective Parish Council in Hesketh Bank must be able to work together and push hard for a better deal for our village . . .
Don’t be apathetic – you have a vote – use it !

Tony Murphy.
