Dear
Elector,
Together with my wife Gail, I have substantial business
interests in Hesketh Bank and having been brought up a
local in nearby Tarleton, I have many friends and connections
in the village of Hesketh Bank. In the last few years
there have been many changes in local government, particularly
at the Parish Council level. Some say that without these
changes Parish Councils were in danger of being abolished,
certainly there was a need to move away from the old under
performing ‘litter bin- and-bus shelter type of
Parish Council where nothing much seemed to happen. All
that has now changed and if you are not moving ahead as
a Parish Council then you are automatically falling behind.
You cannot coast uphill. Many Parish Councils in Lancashire
are now forging ahead and I see a distinct danger of Hesketh
Bank being left behind.
Being at the
forefront of recent changes and Projects gives me the
knowledge and experience coupled with a full appreciation
of procedural matters in relation to Parish Council business.
I am a serving member on the Executive of the Lancashire
Association Of Parish And Town Councils (LAPTC) and also
have extensive business knowledge with a sound grasp of
good financial practises.
Some people have asked me whether there would be a conflict
of interest serving on two Councils at one time to which
I would reply that neighbouring Parish Councils are not
in competition! More than ever we need to co-operate as
members of the Northern Parishes. Great benefits can be
obtained for our villages if we just apply a structured
and well-organised approach.
I
would ask you to vote for me as a member of Hesketh with
Becconsall Parish Council and I will in return give you
my solemn pledge that I will do all that I can to with
teamwork to help move the village forwards for the benefit
of all residents.
Yours
Sincerely,
John Hodson.
