The idea
for a village hall was first mooted in a Parish Council meeting
held at All Saints C of E School in September 1942. By December
1942 the villagers had donated over £600 - which was alot
of money in those days!
Land was
bought in 1944 from the Hesketh Sports Company and Charity Status
was granted in 1950. The Hesketh Bank Village Hall (now the
Village Hall Library) was built and opened in 1964

The initial building was small with plans for
future expansion (which never happened) and was well supported
by the then small village community. Ironically, as the village
expanded use of the village hall declined and it fell into disrepair.
Since 1996, determined efforts have seen over £20,000 raised
in grants and contributions, the original village hall is now
the village library
and the building originally erected in the late 1970's by the
Hesketh Bank Youth Club is now operating as the Village Hall with
a broad spectrum of regular users.
